When Zürich’s Opera House and Tonhalle orchestras come together, the result is more than a concert series—it’s a musical dialogue. In November 2026 and January 2027, these two esteemed ensembles will exchange conductors and venues for a four-part Prokofiev cycle, showcasing the composer’s symphonies alongside works by Swiss composer Dieter Ammann.
Led by Gianandrea Noseda and Paavo Järvi, the collaboration highlights not only the composers’ genius but also the deep friendship between the two conductors. The series features performances by renowned soloists like cellist Sol Gabetta, violinist Hilary Hahn, and pianists Daniil Trifonov and Hayato Sumino, blending classical mastery with contemporary innovation.
