Tokyo Gendai 2026: Art Talks Bring Together Leading Voices in the Art World

Tokyo Gendai, one of Japan’s most anticipated art fairs, returns in 2026 with its Public Programme, featuring the annual 'Art Talks.' This year’s lineup includes nine panel sessions, bringing together luminaries from the worlds of art, design, and architecture to discuss the trends shaping the global art scene.

Highlights include Iris Van Herpen, the Dutch artist and couture designer, exploring 'The Source of Creativity' in collaboration with Perrier-Jouët, and architect Jun Aoki delving into 'Architecture and Art: Where They Intersect.' Mika Kuraya, Director of the Yokohama Triennale, will also lead a session on the 9th edition of the triennial, offering insights into Japan’s contemporary art landscape.

Free for fair visitors, Art Talks promises to be a cornerstone of Tokyo Gendai’s offerings, providing a platform for dialogue and discovery. The fair itself runs from September 11 to 13, with a VIP Vernissage on September 10, offering exclusive access to Soho House Tokyo, the city’s newest creative hub.
