RMB Latitudes CuratorLab Elevates African Art Voices
The fifth edition of RMB Latitudes CuratorLab has launched, featuring 11 exhibitions curated by emerging voices from across Africa. Supported by RMB, this initiative mentors curators and provides a platform for their work, fostering cross-border connections and innovative approaches to contemporary art.
Highlights include 'Kindred' by Voni Baloyi, which explores the human form beyond its physical limitations, and 'Inherited Forms' by Desire Aine, which delves into the cultural inheritance of Ugandan women artists. 'Retrieve' by Mawadah Nofal visualizes the interior lives amidst crisis, while 'Drafts of the Future' by Naledi Tsotetsi examines how futures are imagined and constructed.
This year's cohort reflects a diverse range of contexts and ideas, continuing the program's mission to connect artists with new audiences and support curatorial innovation.
