Hyatt is exploring VeriFLY, a mobile health passport

In an announcement by the Hyatt Hotels Corporation, there are plans to prospect the hospitality industry's VeriFLY app. This mobile health passport app will authenticate Covid-19 credentials and travel protocols. With the app, people will be able to receive and present their Covid-19 test results directly. This means that people attending a meeting can now relax as the app will ensure effortless access to everyone’s Covid-19 test results

Since January 1 2021, tens of thousands of travellers had verified their Covid-19 health status positively and securely using the VeriFLY app. According to Frank Lavey, senior vice president of Global Operations Hyatt, having access to resources and testing Covid-19 would be vital in the recovery of the travel industry. The collaboration with Daon, a leader in identity assurance, colleagues, and attendees can now have peace of mind during meetings because VeriFLY+ is committed to ensuring their well-being before, during and, after a session.

In the next stages of this concept development, Hyatt will collaborate with meeting planners and explore further on meeting attendees' criteria which will involve presenting recent negative Covid-19 test results. The VeriFLY app will be used to communicate to the attendees about the requirements and to fill out the necessary forms and fulfill all their obligations before attending the meeting. Once an attendant has met all the requirements, they will gain entry to the meeting using the app, which will indicate they are cleared. Daon will not send any information from the app to Hyatt but will instead send them a pile of anonymous data.

Senior vice president of Events at Hyatt, Steve Enselein says that Hyatt has been keen on understanding and focusing on meeting customer needs since the beginning of the pandemic. They have learned that safety and well-being are a top priority for meeting planners. They are anticipating the use of VeriFLY + Stay to further assist in keeping everyone safe.

Being one of Hyatts newest dynamism, it is an extension of Hyatt’s Global Care & Cleanliness Commitment; it aims to support guests from start to end of their travel journey and ensure their safety and well-being remain a top priority. Many travel companies have been using the VeriFLY app, including American Airlines, to enable travelers to be more confident about traveling and ensure they have met all travel requirements in their destinations, and adhere to all regulations put in place by travel providers. With more than 300,000 users in 55 countries across six continents, VeriFLY has become very popular and the first health credential app to be widely used.
